Suzi Long Watercolor Class
In this relaxed two-hour session, Suzi Long gently introduces the fundamentals of drawing?proportion, perspective, and the art of mixing beautiful watercolor. Her goal is simple: to help you use your creative license to loosen up, trust your artistic instincts, and create a landscape that feels personal and pleasing to you. These sessions are especially perfect for travelers and wanderers who love capturing what they see along the way. Drop in Thursday, Friday, or Saturday 10:30-12:30 at the Blue Pelican Gallery, 401 North Harbor Drive in Fort Bragg.

Great Day in Elk!
The Greenwood Community Center's 49th annual end-of-summer celebration open to everyone. It all begins at noon with a parade through town. The afternoon festivities include children?s carnival games, the silent auction, a raffle, a kids' craft fair including face painting, spin art and sew-your-own stuffed animal, the cake auction, the famous $100 greased pole, a watermelon eating contest, sack races, and live music and entertainment on the outdoor-stage featuring the Americana and bluegrass band, 2nd Hand Grass, and Trillium Tribe Belly Dancers. There will be lots of food and drink, including best-ever hot dogs, focaccia bread from the outdoor bread oven served with Moroccan-style lentil soup as well as tamales or chicken Caesar salad from the kitchen. For dessert, you will find yummy treats at the Civic Club's Sweet Shack. Quench your thirst with Greenwood Gold fresh pressed apple cider, a soft drink, local beer from the North Coast Brewing Company, local wine, or a margarita from Elk?s World-Famous Margarita Bar. Dinner starts at 4:00PM. On the menu is Garlic Udon Noodles with Spiced Chicken or Tofu by Chris from the Gnar Bar. Kindly leave your dogs at home.
